A second location for a downtown concept

Boston chef and restaurateur Tiffani Faison has opened a second outpost of Bubble Bath, her Champagne-and-wine-focused bar concept, on the rooftop of the citizenM hotel in Back Bay at 408 Newbury St. The new venue is positioned as an expansion of the original Bubble Bath location inside the High Street Place food hall downtown, which debuted in March 2022.

Faison operates Bubble Bath through Big Heart Hospitality, a restaurant group whose Boston portfolio has included Sweet Cheeks Q in Fenway and the cocktail-and-snack bar Fool’s Errand, alongside other past and present concepts.

What the Back Bay location adds

Bubble Bath Back Bay is designed to broaden the original model, with an expanded beverage program and a larger footprint. The space has seating for 108 indoors, plus an 81-seat seasonal patio. The setting—high above Newbury Street—puts skyline and Charles River views at the center of the experience.

On the drink side, the Back Bay location introduces a full cocktail list alongside a wine program described as exceeding 100 bottles, with sparkling wines remaining a primary focus. The approach aligns with the original Bubble Bath identity: a wine-forward bar meant to function as a destination for both casual visits and celebratory nights out.

Food: snackable, shareable, and built for pairings

The menu is structured around small plates and canapé-style bites meant to be ordered alongside wine and cocktails. Dishes highlighted around opening include cucumber bites with whipped feta, a chicken “tikka” salad, mini sandwich variations (including smoked salmon and cheese combinations), and snack-forward items such as fries served with martini-style aioli. A caviar “tea service” is also part of the offering, with optional beverage pairings.

  • Format: small plates, chilled dishes, warm snacks, and mini sandwiches

  • Signature elements: sparkling-wine emphasis and premium add-ons such as caviar service

  • Setting: rooftop indoor dining room plus a seasonal outdoor patio

How the opening fits Boston’s restaurant landscape

The Back Bay opening reflects two ongoing dynamics in Boston dining: the continued build-out of hotel-based food and beverage destinations, and the extension of established local restaurant brands into new neighborhoods. By placing Bubble Bath atop a high-traffic Newbury Street address, the project links a downtown food-hall concept to a more traditional nightlife corridor, while keeping the menu anchored in bar-friendly formats designed for short visits as well as longer, reservation-style evenings.

Bubble Bath Back Bay is located at 408 Newbury St., on the citizenM hotel rooftop in Boston’s Back Bay.
