City Council General Meeting and Legislative Docket

The Boston City Council will convene for its regularly scheduled meeting today, Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM. The session will be held in the Christopher A. Iannella Chamber on the fifth floor of Boston City Hall. Presided over by Councilor Julia Mejia, the agenda includes several high-priority items following the recent winter storm. Notable dockets for consideration include Docket #0377, a proposed $189,000 Solar Recommission Project grant intended to modernize municipal solar infrastructure, and Docket #0387, which seeks to establish a permanent Boston Emergency Relief Fund to assist residents during climate-related crises.

Public Health Advisory and Community Forum

The Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) is hosting a virtual public forum today titled "The Future of Public Health in Boston." Running from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, the session features Commissioner Bisola Ojikutu and local health advocates. The discussion will focus on the city's 2025-2028 Community Health Improvement Plan and ongoing efforts to address respiratory illness trends observed this winter. Residents are encouraged to participate in the Zoom webinar to provide feedback on neighborhood health equity initiatives.

Entertainment and Environment Public Hearings

The Mayor’s Office of Consumer Affairs and Licensing will conduct virtual Entertainment Application Hearings starting at 2:00 PM. A major item on today’s docket is the application by Live Nation for Fenway Park to host a series of 13 concerts during the 2026 summer season, with proposed acts including Noah Kahan and Chris Stapleton. Additionally, the Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:00 PM via virtual conference to review environmental impact statements for upcoming waterfront development projects and wetland protection measures.

Public Works and Winter Parking Regulations

Following the intense blizzard earlier this week, the City of Boston has confirmed that the snow emergency and associated parking bans have been lifted. However, residents are reminded that while daytime neighborhood street cleaning is suspended during January and February, the Night Street Cleaning program remains in effect year-round. Mechanical sweeping continues on main thoroughfares and throughout the Downtown area during overnight hours to clear debris and residual salt. Vehicles parked in violation of posted overnight signs are subject to ticketing and towing to ensure public safety and efficient drainage maintenance.
