Arrest follows search warrant executed in Fenway; arraignment expected Tuesday in Roxbury court

A 36-year-old Boston man was arrested Friday and is facing multiple felony charges alleging the sexual abuse of a child and the trafficking of minors for sex, authorities said. The arrest was made after investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on Peterborough Street in the Fenway neighborhood.

The suspect, Talik Rashaun Garcia, is charged with rape and abuse of a child aggravated by a 10-year age difference; trafficking of persons for sexual servitude where the alleged victim is under 18; posing or exhibiting a child in a state of nudity or sexual conduct; dissemination of visual material of a child in a state of nudity or sexual conduct; and knowing purchase or possession of visual material depicting a child in sexual conduct.

Investigators involved in the arrest included Boston Police detectives assigned to the Human Trafficking Unit and the Crimes Against Children Unit, working alongside the Massachusetts State Police High-Risk Victims Squad. Authorities said the investigation remains active.

What is known about the case so far

Authorities have not publicly identified any alleged victims, provided an estimated timeline of the alleged conduct, or disclosed how the investigation began. No additional details were released about what was seized during the search or whether any other suspects are being sought.

Garcia is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, in the Roxbury Division of Boston Municipal Court. At arraignment, prosecutors typically present initial allegations, request bail conditions, and may seek orders intended to protect alleged victims and preserve evidence. Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

Charges reflect overlapping enforcement areas

The charges filed in this case span three related enforcement areas often investigated together:

  • Crimes involving alleged sexual assault of minors, including charges that hinge on the age of the complainant and the accused.
  • Human trafficking allegations involving minors and commercial sexual exploitation.
  • Alleged creation, dissemination, or possession of visual material depicting minors in sexual conduct.

Massachusetts law provides enhanced penalties for trafficking offenses involving victims under 18, and courts routinely treat child sexual exploitation cases as high-risk matters, often involving coordinated work between specialized police units and state-level victim services.

If you or someone you know may have information relevant to an investigation involving the exploitation of minors, authorities urge contacting law enforcement.

What to watch next

Additional information may emerge through charging documents, bail proceedings, and any prosecutor-filed statements presented at arraignment. Court records may also clarify whether the case is expected to remain in municipal court for early proceedings or be moved to a higher court for further action.
