Arrest announced after joint undercover operation

A 23-year-old West Roxbury man was arrested in Boston’s Seaport neighborhood and charged with human trafficking-related offenses following an undercover operation, Boston police said.

Police identified the suspect as Schineider Dave Macean, 23. He was taken into custody on Monday, February 9, 2026, in the area of Seaport Boulevard and Thompson Place, authorities said.

Charges filed and court process

Police said Macean faces three charges: human trafficking, commercial sex acts, and deriving support from prostitution. Authorities said he is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.

Investigators did not release further details about what prompted the operation, whether the case involves additional suspects, or whether police identified victims connected to the investigation. No information was released about a defense attorney or any response from the suspect.

Agencies involved and scope of investigation

Boston police said the arrest followed work by the department’s Human Trafficking Unit, operating in conjunction with the Massachusetts State Police Special Services Section High Risk Victims Squad. Police also said officers from Boston Police District 6 assisted.

Authorities said the Human Trafficking Unit is continuing to investigate the facts and circumstances surrounding the case. In Massachusetts, trafficking cases can intersect with local and state enforcement operations focused on commercial sexual exploitation, and cases may expand as investigators interview witnesses, review communications, and seek corroborating evidence.

Where investigators are seeking information

Police urged anyone with information to contact the Boston Police Human Trafficking Unit at 617-343-6533. Anonymous tips can be provided through CrimeStoppers by phone at 1-800-494-TIPS, by text by sending “TIP” to CRIME (27463), or online through the Boston Police CrimeStoppers portal. Police said photos and videos can also be submitted through CrimeStoppers.
