Investigation centers on alleged entry at former Carney Hospital campus

Boston police are asking for the public’s help identifying two people accused of breaking into a Boston Emergency Medical Services (EMS) bay in Dorchester over the weekend. The incident was reported at about 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, in the area of 2100 Dorchester Ave., the address of the former Carney Hospital property.

Police say the individuals used a tool to access the rear door of the EMS bay and were confronted by EMTs after gaining entry. Investigators have not publicly detailed what tool was used, whether anything was taken or damaged, or how long the pair remained inside before being confronted.

Suspect descriptions released as detectives pursue identification

District C-11 detectives released descriptions of two suspects and said they are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding the alleged breaking and entering.

  • The first suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s with a slim build, long brown hair, and a mustache. Police say he was wearing glasses and a green Carhartt jacket.

  • The second suspect is described as a white female in her late 20s with a slim build and medium-length dirty blonde hair. Police say she was wearing a black North Face jacket and blue jeans.

Police have also circulated an image of the pair as part of the identification effort.

Why the location matters

The address provided—2100 Dorchester Ave.—is tied to a now-closed hospital campus, a detail that adds operational and security questions for emergency services. Police have not specified whether the EMS bay was in active use at the time, whether it was attached to a remaining medical operation nearby, or whether any equipment or vehicles were targeted.

Boston EMS facilities can include secured vehicle bays and storage areas used to stage ambulances and supplies. The department has not released information indicating the incident disrupted emergency response operations.
