Police issue missing-person alert for Dorchester teen

Boston police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 15-year-old Dorchester resident, Briyana Jacques, after detectives opened an investigation into her disappearance.

Detectives assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan/Dorchester) reported that Jacques was last seen on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at about 5:30 p.m., at her home on Rosedale Street in Dorchester. Police said investigators are reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding her disappearance and are seeking information that could help determine her current location.

Description and locations investigators are checking

Police described Jacques as having a medium-brown complexion and standing about 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing roughly 110 pounds. Investigators said her hair is styled in a gel ponytail and dyed red with some black coloring, and that she has a nose piercing.

As part of the search, detectives have circulated locations where she is known to spend time, including the South Bay Mall area and nearby neighborhood streets. Police said she has been known to frequent:

  • the South Bay Mall area
  • Victory Road
  • Mather Street
  • Wheatland Avenue

How to share information

Police urged anyone with information about Jacques’ whereabouts to contact emergency services immediately or reach investigators directly.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or contact District B-3 detectives at (617) 343-4712. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by calling 1-800-494-TIPS or by texting the word “TIP” to CRIME (27463).

What happens after a public alert

Missing-person alerts are typically used to quickly broaden awareness beyond the immediate neighborhood, especially when investigators are working to confirm sightings, map a last-known route, or identify places a missing person may visit. Police said they will protect the identities of people who provide information confidentially through anonymous tip options.

The investigation remained active as of the most recent police update, and authorities continued to ask community members to report any credible information that could assist in locating the teen.
