What police say happened

Boston Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man wanted in connection with an aggravated assault investigation. Detectives assigned to District B-2 said the incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, in the area of 314 Warren St., in Roxbury.

Police described the case as an “Aggravated Assault (Knife)” incident. The department has not publicly released additional details about the circumstances of the assault, the condition of the victim, or whether any arrests have been made in the case.

Description released by investigators

Investigators said they are trying to identify the person shown in images distributed as part of the request for assistance. Police described the individual as about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin mustache and a mouth twitch.

The department said it is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.

How to share information

Anyone with information is urged to contact District B-2 detectives at 617-343-4275. Police said community members who prefer to remain anonymous can also provide information through CrimeStoppers by phone at 1-800-494-TIPS, or by text by sending the word “TIP” to CRIME (27463). Police said photos and videos related to the investigation can be submitted through CrimeStoppers as well.

Context: similar identification requests in Boston

The Oct. 29, 2025 incident is part of a broader pattern of periodic public appeals by Boston police for help identifying suspects in serious assault investigations across multiple districts. In 2025, the department issued separate community alerts seeking identifications in aggravated assault cases in Downtown Boston and in Dorchester, with incidents described in locations including Summer Street and Blue Hill Avenue.

  • In some cases, police have later issued updates indicating that individuals connected to an investigation have been identified.
  • Public tips, including submissions of images and video, are commonly requested as detectives work to confirm identities and timelines.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the person depicted in the distributed images to contact District B-2 detectives or provide an anonymous tip through CrimeStoppers.

The investigation remains ongoing.
