Curtain Up: Theater and Comedy

Theater lovers are in for a treat this Thursday as the Broadway sensation Some Like It Hot continues its run at the Citizens Bank Opera House. The performance begins at 7:30 PM, bringing the high-energy, 1950s-inspired musical comedy to the heart of the Theatre District. For those looking for sharp wit and social commentary, today is the final chance to catch Trevor Noah on his "Off The Record" tour at the Chevalier Theatre. Additionally, comedy fans can head over to Laugh Boston for a set by Francesco De Carlo at 7:00 PM, or visit the Center for Arts at the Armory in Somerville to see Vivian Tu at 7:30 PM.

Art and Music After Dark

Thursday evenings in Boston often mean expanded access to the city’s world-class cultural institutions. Today, the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) offers its Free Thursday Nights, with admission waived for all visitors starting at 5:00 PM. It is a perfect opportunity to explore the waterfront galleries without a ticket fee. Over at the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), several landmark exhibitions are currently on view, including Martin Puryear: Nexus and the vibrant textile display One Hundred Stitches, One Hundred Villages.

For classical music enthusiasts, the Boston Symphony Orchestra performs at Symphony Hall at 7:30 PM, featuring Anna Handler and the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante. If you prefer a more eclectic sound, The Jazz Mandolin Project will be playing at the Paradise Rock Club starting at 7:00 PM, and Arooj Aftab takes the stage at the Berklee Performance Center at 8:00 PM.

Community and Local Meetups

Beyond the big stages, several community-focused events are happening across the neighborhoods today. Boston University is hosting its Spring Study Abroad Expo from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 888 Commonwealth Avenue, where students can learn about global programs. In East Boston, residents can take advantage of the Immigrant Advancement Community Office Hours from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 365 Bremen Street for in-person support and resources. For a more relaxed evening, the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery in Jamaica Plain is hosting its weekly trivia night starting at 6:00 PM, while the Kadampa Meditation Center offers a Simply Meditate session at 6:30 PM for those looking to unwind.
