Neighborhood Liaison Office Hours
On Friday, February 13, 2026, the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services will host public office hours across several Boston communities. These sessions allow residents to meet directly with city representatives to discuss local concerns, request municipal services, or provide feedback on community projects. Liaisons will be available in the following neighborhoods today:
- Allston-Brighton
- Roslindale
- North End, Waterfront, and West End
- Hyde Park
- Jamaica Plain
- South Boston
- Dorchester
Public Works and Parking Alerts
The City of Boston has issued the following updates regarding public works and transportation for Friday, February 13:
- Trash and Recycling: Collection services are operating on a normal Friday schedule. Residents are reminded that trash should be placed in bins with secured lids and set out no earlier than 5:00 p.m. the evening before collection.
- Street Cleaning: Overnight street cleaning has been officially canceled for the night of February 13. Daytime street cleaning remains on its regular seasonal schedule unless otherwise posted.
- Parking Meters: Municipal parking meters are active and running on their normal schedules today. Drivers must adhere to posted time limits and fee requirements.
- City Hall Hours: Boston City Hall is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though some departmental offices may conclude public transactions at 4:00 p.m.
Age Strong and Health Services
The Boston Age Strong Commission is providing specialized services today to support older residents and their families:
- Cost-Savings Clinic: A session is being held in Jamaica Plain to assist seniors in navigating financial assistance programs and household budget reductions.
- Memory Cafe: A social gathering for individuals experiencing memory loss and their caregivers is scheduled for today in West Roxbury, providing a supportive environment for community engagement.
Youth Engagement and Recreation
The Parks and Recreation Department is continuing its February School Vacation Week activities at various city parks and community centers through February 14. Additionally, the city has announced the 2026 Mayor’s Youth Summit, scheduled for February 21. This event will cater to teens aged 14–19 and focus on civic engagement and youth performances.
City Council Schedule
Following recent committee hearings regarding elevator access and life safety compliance, the Boston City Council has updated its February calendar. There will be no full legislative meeting on Wednesday, February 18, in observance of the Presidents' Day holiday week. The next regular meeting of the full Council is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in the Iannella Chamber.
