JetBlue adds 10 extra nonstop flights from New England to San Francisco for Super Bowl LX travel

Expanded air service as Patriots clinch a Super Bowl berth
JetBlue is adding extra nonstop flights between New England and the San Francisco Bay Area after the New England Patriots secured a place in Super Bowl LX, scheduled in Santa Clara, California. The added capacity is aimed at meeting a short, predictable surge in demand tied to major sports events, when travel patterns concentrate heavily into a narrow window before and immediately after the game.
The airline said it will add 10 additional nonstop flights between New England and San Francisco, raising its total nonstop departures on the corridor to 28 over a five-day period. The service is scheduled from Thursday, Feb. 5, through Monday, Feb. 9, 2026—covering outbound travel ahead of the game weekend and return travel immediately afterward.
Boston-San Francisco frequency increases, with late-night returns
Most of the additional flying is centered on Boston Logan International Airport. JetBlue’s schedule includes an extra nonstop flight from Boston to San Francisco on Thursday, Feb. 5, two extra nonstop flights on Friday, Feb. 6, and one extra nonstop flight on Saturday, Feb. 7. On those dates, the airline plans a total of five departures from Boston to San Francisco on Feb. 5, six on Feb. 6, and three on Feb. 7.
For the return trip, JetBlue said it will add one late-night nonstop flight on Sunday, Feb. 8—bringing the total San Francisco-to-Boston departures to five that day—and add three more nonstop flights on Monday, Feb. 9, for a total of seven departures from San Francisco to Boston that Monday.
Providence gets a special nonstop option
JetBlue also plans a special nonstop flight from Providence, Rhode Island, to San Francisco on Friday, Feb. 6, with a nonstop return to Providence on Monday, Feb. 9. The carrier described the Providence nonstop as a route not normally served by any airline, positioning it as an additional option for travelers in southern New England who might otherwise drive to Boston or connect through another hub.
Other carriers also move to capture demand
JetBlue is not the only airline adjusting schedules around Super Bowl travel. United has added one Boston-to-San Jose flight on Feb. 7 and a San Jose-to-Boston return on Feb. 9, as well as a Boston-to-San Francisco flight on Feb. 6 and a San Francisco-to-Boston flight on Feb. 9 in addition to its existing service.
- JetBlue: 28 nonstop departures between New England and San Francisco from Feb. 5–9, including 10 added flights
- New Providence option: nonstop to San Francisco on Feb. 6; return Feb. 9
- United: added Boston flights to San Jose and San Francisco on select dates
Airlines typically treat championship-week demand as a short-term spike, adding limited flights where aircraft and crews can be reassigned without disrupting the broader schedule.
JetBlue said the added flights are already available for booking.
